Hatsune Miku Project DIVA Arcade: ver.B
Location tests for ver.B will begin at the following 3 arcades from tomorrow, 2012/06/08 (Fri).

Players wishing to participate in the tests should take note of the following points:

An IC card that has been used for ver.B will not be able to play on any ver.A cabinets again.
New DIVA.NET features will only be available for cards that have switched over to ver.B and will otherwise be invisible

The following new features will be rolled out for ver.B:

Rival feature
- After registering someone as a rival on DIVA.NET, players will be able to see their rivals' statistics (such as scores and completion rates) directly in-game.
- The other player must acknowledge the rivalry for the function to work.
PV Screenshot feature
- While in PV mode, players will be able to snap up to 8 screenshots per song.
- Out of these 8, players can choose 1 to be saved to DIVA.NET.
- Players can then access DIVA.NET to directly download the screenshot. This will cost 30 VP per download.
  - This feature will only be available to players using the Aime service (via IC card or phone).
  - DIVA.NET will only save the latest 3 screenshots. Older ones will be deleted as new ones are saved.
Other features
- A random selection option has been added for both song and module selection.
- EXCELLENT has been added as a song grading.
  - This addition will cause the biggest change to existing gameplay.
  - The minimum clear completion rate has been revised to be same for both song 1 and song 2 (players no longer have to score 10% higher for song 2).
  - Since EXCELLENT will now be a gold-colored clear, GREAT has been downgraded to a silver-colored clear (STANDARD is still bronze and PERFECT is still golden with star).
  - Due to the addition of EXCELLENT CLEAR TRIAL, the following standard will be adopted for existing IC cards:
    - If PERFECT TRIAL has been cleared, EXCELLENT TRIAL will automatically be cleared and the player will receive the reward for EXCELLENT TRIAL without having to do anything.
    - If a song meets the clear percentage for EXCELLENT, its rating will be upgraded from GREAT to EXCELLENT automatically.
    - If a song is perfected but does not meet the clear percentage for EXCELLENT, it will still be graded as PERFECT because PERFECT is a higher rating.
    - The following clear percentages will be required for EXCELLENT rating:
      - EASY: 85%　NORMAL: 85%　HARD: 90%　EXTREME: 95%
- On DIVA.NET, players can toggle whether they want the GREAT and/or EXCELLENT clear rating to be displayed on their completion rate gauge in-game. If enabled, it will mark out on the gauge the amount needed to reach the respective clear rating.
- Players with a Twitter account can link it to their DIVA.NET account. While playing the game, when certain conditions are met, tweets will automatically be sent.
- New DIVA AC cabinets will receive an overhaul in design. Module change ♪
  - The new cabinets will be clear with a white base. The designer is Tripshots.
- Various BGMs have also been changed, such as when the cabinet is not being played, when credits are added, when a song is cleared, etc.

DIVA.NET New Feature - Result Picture Shop
From 11am tomorrow (17th May 2012) onward, players will be able to use the Result Picture Shop.
This new Shop will allow the player to generate a photo of any result from their last 20 songs played.
The photo will contain the percentage of each note rating, song rating, the completion rate, score, difficulty level and stars, trial completed (if any), and module(s) used.
Players can choose between 3 resolutions (1280x720 or 960x540 or 640x360) and 3 image qualities (high, medium, low).
They can also choose whether to display the player name and arcade name.
It will also display the illustrated cover and background of the song played. See sample.

Each image generated will cost 30 VP.

Updates to the Aime service & Integration into SEGA ID system
After the latest updates to the Aime service site, all users will be integrated directly into SEGA's ID system.
Users who do not have a SEGA ID should log into the Aime service site with their user ID and follow the instructions to create their SEGA ID.
Users who already have a SEGA ID can log into Aime with their SEGA ID and use their user ID to carry over all data in their cards.

Players who have played on REV4 will still be able to play on REV3.

On 13th Oct 23:00, a problem occurred that prevented the use of all IC cards on the DIVA AC cabinets.
There has been no official response yet, so please check for the following before playing:

After scanning your card, the following message appears: "＊使用できないカードです　エラー番号［４２］" (*This card cannot be used: Error 42).
There is a "!" mark over the green network icon at the top right of the game screen. The numbers "#6508" may appear below this icon.

It is unknown whether the problem lies with SEGA's servers, but there is no risk of permanent damage to the IC cards.

Plans for 3rd Song Submission Contest!

[INTRODUCTION]
The format of the contest this time has been drastically altered from previous ones, so interested parties please read carefully.
The main attraction this time is that selected songs will not only appear on Hatsune Miku Project DIVA Arcade, but also be featured on a new compilation CD, "V ♥ 25".
More information on V ♥ 25 can be found here.

[INFORMATION]
The aim of this contest is to gather PVs to be added to the rhythm game "Hatsune Miku Project DIVA Arcade".
The PVs will be created with the help of the "VOCALOID2" software which is wholly owned by Crypton Future Media, Inc.
In other words, entries utilizing KAITO and MEIKO voice banks will not be accepted for this contest.
Duration: 2011/10/07 (Fri) ~ 2011/11/30 (Wed)
Vocaloids: Hatsune Miku (+Append), Kagamine Rin/Len (+Append), Megurine Luka
Format: Instead of just a song and illustrations, submissions now need to include a complete PV to go along with the song.
PV Size: 720p (1280 x 720 pixels, 30 frames per second).
Song Length: Between 2 min 30 sec to 3 min 00 sec (2 min 40 sec recommended).

[HOW TO ENTER]
Unlike previously, there will be no special submission page. All submissions are to be uploaded to Nico Nico Douga normally.

The names of all creators (consequently, rights owners) should be entered into the description of the upload.
Submissions should be tagged "DIVA-AC_vl25作品募集" to qualify.

Note that if the tag is removed after the submission deadline, the song will still be disqualified from entry.

[DETAILS]

Entries judged to be more suitable to rhythm gaming, will be given higher priority in being chosen.
- This time, no preference will be given for fast songs.
Neither professional nor amateur entries will be limited in their choice of genres.
Songs that are already available publicly can be submitted when all the conditions below are fulfilled:
- The submitter is the creator of the song.
- The song has not been used by any other companies in contests, etc.
- All rights to the song are retained by the submitter.
  - If copyrights to the song are being held by entities such as JASRAC, the entry will not be entertained.
  - Similarly, remixes of existing songs will not be accepted due to copyright infringements unless the creator releases the remix as an entry.

[RESULTS]
Results for this contest will be announced on the Hatsune Miku Project DIVA homepage and the V ♥ 25 website around the middle of December 2011.

The update to ver.A REV2 will take place on 2011/07/26.
With summer well along, swimwear must follow suit! And with that, 14 new modules are here to make a big splash.

On a REV1 cabinet, they will not be displayed even if they have been specifically set.

DIVA.NET Regular Button Sound setting added
This feature has been added to the button sound customizer (共通ボタン音設定).
It allows players to set a regular button sound for all songs with just one setting.

Accompanying this feature, a new option is available for setting song-specific button sound (共通ボタン音無効設定).
This option will cause the regular button sound to be ignored, reverting back to the original button sound for the song.

[NOTE]
Once again, this feature is only usable on ver.A REV2.

The rankings from the first-ever Location Test Contest up to the contest opening today, have all been publicly released.
These records display a list of the top 300 highscores in each course (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) for each contest.
In the case of past contests, the rankings are obtained from data on their respective closing days, storing PN, titles and levels.
While they can currently only be viewed on DIVA.NET, they are being adapted for viewing on the official homepage.

5th PV Edit Contest Ended!
The 5th PV Edit Contest which started on 2011/05/16 (Mon) 15:00 has ended on 2011/06/30.
315 submissions were received (apparently more than the 3rd and 4th Contest).
Results will be announced between mid- to end-July.

While the period of the next Contest has not been decided, it has been indicated that it is likely to continue.
Any information regarding this will be presented in the next issue of Weekly DIVA Station.

Operational 1st Anniversary, 1st Issue! New Modules & Skins, Present of 393 VP!
From today, all players who have activated the Aime service (via IC card or cellphone) are presented with a gift of 393 VP.
Upon scanning into the Aime service (IC card or cellphone) at any Hatsune Miku Project DIVA Arcade cabinet, the VP will be gifted.
There will be no indications and the results screen will not display the addition of 393 VP, but the gift can be confirmed by checking the VP History on DIVA.NET.
This present is granted to all players logging in after the morning of 2011/06/20, only once per Aime account.
All cards that are newly registered after the morning of 2011/06/20 will receive a starting gift of 393 VP instead of the previous 50 VP.

1. 393 (Miku-san) VP Gift
A bonus of 393 VP will be gifted the first time a fully activated card logs in after 20 Jun (Mon).
Do take the chance to purchase the new modules or skins.
Note: For cards activated after 20 Jun (Mon), the starting balance of 50 VP will be lifted to 393 VP.

New Rules for April's Contest & New Songs Arriving in May!

The 1st Difficulty Sum Total Contest begins tomorrow (28th April)!

Duration: 2011/04/28 (Thu) ~ 2011/05/08 (Sun)
Scoring: Total completion rate of 4 songs
Courses: Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced
Conditions:
- Beginner: At least ★16 total difficulty stars across 4 songs.
- Intermediate: At least ★22 total difficulty stars across 4 songs.
- Advanced: At least ★30 total difficulty stars across 4 songs.
Rules:
- Beginner: ★1~5 difficulty songs
- Intermediate: ★4~7 difficulty songs
- Advanced: ★6~9 difficulty songs
Rewards:
- Beginner silver reward skin: のびりんちゅう (BLUE) designed by もっさん
- Intermediate silver reward skin: Urban Silhouette (BLUE) designed by Tripshots
- Advanced silver reward skin: Machines (BLUE) designed by Deino

This contest introduces a new rule. While aiming for the bronze/silver/gold rewards as usual, the choice of songs plays an important role since it is essential to fulfill the minimum total difficulty stars.
For example, on the beginner course, a player can aim for a total of ★16 by going for 1+5+5+5=16 across 4 songs to clear the condition, but all grading will still be judged only by completion percentage alone.
Picking a ★1 song as the first song will also cause the song selection screen to only display ★5 songs thereafter to make sure that the player fulfills the condition even if a wrong choice was accidentally made.

Notice from DIVA.NET

This is for players participating in the location tests for ver.A REV1.
The 1st Difficulty Sum Total Contest will proceed on both ver.A and ver.A REV1.
However, because of version differences, an incomplete course on one version cannot be resumed on the other.
Therefore, please complete the whole course before switching to another version.
Also, the rewards for each course are only attainable once regardless of version.

They will only be added once ver.A REV1 is operational, which appears to be in mid-May.

Hatsune Miku Project DIVA Arcade ver.A REVISION1 location tests begin tomorrow!

From tomorrow (27th April) onwards, live tests for ver.A REVISION1 will begin.
Please note that new songs will not be playable.

Notable Updates

Gameplay Updates
- Changes to Results
  - When the wrong buttons are being hit, the resulting red COOL or black FINE will now be rated as WRONG.
  - The WRONG rating will still be similarly colored red or black depending on the timing of the note.
  - Scoring-wise, there will be no changes to hitting WRONG notes.
  - The results screen will now tabulate the number of WRONG notes hit.
  - The results screen will also calculate the percentage of each type of note ratings. This might feature in future contests as objectives.
- Changes to Song Selection Screen
  - There will be two new methods of sorting songs on the selection screen.
  - "Release Date" sorting allows players to access the new songs easily.
  - Players can create a personal "My List" on DIVA.NET to display specific songs.
- Changes to Updates
  - While this does not directly concern players, new code will be written to facilitate any future updates.
DIVA.NET Updates
- New Customization Options
  - By popular request, players will be able to customize not just specific modules for each and every song, but also the skin and button sounds used.
- New "My List" Feature
  - Players can create up to 5 personal song lists with 20 songs each.
  - 1 of these lists can be designated for use in the arcade.
  - Choosing to sort songs by "My List" in the song selection screen will display only the songs in the player's list.
- New Sorting Options
  - Players will now also be able to sort songs on DIVA.NET using filters like release date, difficulty and others.
  - Songs can be sorted in the following menus:
    - Song Customization
    - Song List
    - Highscore Ranking
    - My List (when making one)

Do note that the updates to DIVA.NET can be accessed anytime while updates to the game machine itself will only be reflected on the machines in the stores conducting the live location tests.
Also, rest assured that while REVISION1 is undergoing testing, ver.A will still be fully playable.
